Schedule
1:00-1:30: Self-Guided Tours: Teachers, board members, and volunteers will be around the campus. Look in the Commons building for • Enrollment help • PTO information • Grove t-shirt sales • Free Grove buttons (while supplies last)
1:30-1:50: Meet the Teachers and School Administrator! Located in the Commons building.
1:55: Kids Hike; Kids’ Wishes & Dreams: Kids go on a short hike with adult supervisors. After the hike (2:30 or so). the kids meet up with the teachers and go to the amphitheater for a teacher-led discussion of the kids’ wishes and dreams for the new school. What ideas do the kids have for Grove? Older kids will be on-hand to help. Additional kids’ activities (coloring, games) will be available — please ask volunteers where these are located.
2:00: Parents’ Presentation Continues: A discussion about the background and philosophy of the school and its educational model. The Board of Directors will address common questions.
3:00-4:00: Self-Guided Tours Continue; Refreshments in the Commons: An opportunity to ask additional questions.
About Grove:
Grove Elementary: A Marine Area Community School is a new tuition-free public charter school opening for the 2017-2018 school year in Marine on St. Croix, MN. The mission of the Grove Elementary is to utilize the area’s natural resources, history, arts, and civic stewardship of the community as a foundation for the study of language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, physical education, art, and other curriculum subjects. The place-based learning environment will be student-centered, designed by teachers, and reinforced and supported by the local community.

From the Twin Cities:
- Highway 36 to County Road 15 (Manning Avenue) and turn left (north).
- Go north 7 miles on County Road 15 to County Road 7 (Square Lake Trail) and turn right (east).
- Go east 2.35 miles on County Road 7 to County Road 55 (Norell Avenue) and turn left (north).
- Go north 1.75 miles on County Road 55 to Oldfield Road and turn right (east).
- Go east l mile on Oldfield Road and continue straight ahead for .5 mile onto Ostlund Trail. Turn left into the entrance.
From Marine on St. Croix:
- Go south on 95 to 7 (Nason Hill) and turn right (west).
- Turn left (south) onto Paul Ave.
- Turn right (west) onto Ostlund Trail N.
From Stillwater:
- Go north on 95 to 59 (Square Lake Trail) and turn left (west).
- Follow the road as it turns right (north) and becomes Paul Ave.
- Turn left (west) onto Ostlund Trail N.
