Introducing Dawn Kroohn, 6th Grade at River Grove

Email: dkroohn@marineareaschool.org

Dawn Kroohn graduated from Concordia University-St. Paul with a degree in Elementary Education.  She began her teaching career abroad as an English teacher in Egypt and thoroughly enjoyed the people, the culture, and the adventure of it all.  Back in Minnesota, she taught sixth grade for two years in Maple Grove before spending several years as a stay-at-home mom to three boys.  She has spent the past nine years teaching third grade at New Life Academy in Woodbury and is now very excited to be back in sixth grade at River Grove!  She always looks forward to building relationships with students and helping them realize and meet their potential to learn and grow.  Dawn has a tremendous appreciation for the outdoors and is eager to foster meaningful, engaging learning experiences in outdoor settings.  When not serving as her sons’ biggest sports fan, she enjoys reading, hiking, bird watching, crocheting, inventing recipes, walking their super-fluffy labradoodle, and road-tripping to state and national parks with her husband and sons.
