River Grove Looking into Participation in the Free Federal Lunch Program

River Grove is looking into participating in the federal program that will provide free meals to all enrolled River Grove students. If approved, free lunches will begin on Monday, October 5. Participation in the program will mean that the U.S. Department of Agriculture will waive all fees for school meals through December 31, 2020, or earlier if funding runs out.

Fill out Free & Reduced Application Form by Friday, 9/25/20

Please Note: Families MUST fill out a new application for benefits at the beginning of each school year.

Even though meals may be free for a time, families in need of financial assistance should still fill out a Free & Reduced Application form. This ensures you’ll have help paying for meals after the program’s funding runs out.

Please download the application, fill it out, and return it to the school office. You may scan it and send to Drew Goodson, School Administrator, at dgoodson@marineareaschool.org. Or drop it off at the school office.

Lunch Info

Every other week, please go to our Lunch Order Form (www.marineareaschool.org/studentfamily-info/lunch/lunch-order-form/). The order form will be in 2-week increments.

River Grove will continue to offer school lunches, with occasional hot lunches. The lunches will be prepared, packaged individually, and delivered to each classroom. Coolers have been purchased to ensure the lunches are kept properly while in route to their class.

There will be a limited menu with a four-day rotation of different lunches offered. Please see the website menu and continue to sign up for lunches two weeks at a time.

  • Payments for lunches can be made by check or cash. (Payments will be waived if we are approved for the free lunch program.) Send the money to school with your child, drop it off at the office, or deposit it in a the locked drop box outside the office door. Soon, we will send information about how to pay via credit card.
