Unless otherwise noted on our calendar, the River Grove Elementary School Board of Directors meetings are on campus the second Thursday of the month at 5:00pm.
Agendas are posted on our school calendar. Meeting minutes from the previous board meeting are approved at each new board meeting, and will be posted on the website following board review and approval.

We encourage community participation. While input is welcome, we are prohibited by law from discussing concerns about individual students or employees at a public meeting.
In order to conduct meetings properly and efficiently, the following processes have been established for people who wish to address the School Board at a meeting:
Speakers will be asked to come forward at an appropriate, designated time.
Three (3) minutes per individual. Individuals may not merge allocated speaking minutes or defer allocated speaking minutes to other speakers on the same topic.
Individuals presenting to the School Board must identify themselves and/or any group they are representing. Individuals may offer comments on their own behalf and do not need to be affiliated with a larger group.
Present comments in a respectful and professional manner. Vulgarity, character abuse or specific complaints identifying staff, students or citizen committee members will not be permitted.
Electronic presentations will not be permitted, however written summaries are accepted.
The School Board will not respond to or discuss comments. The School Administrator may be asked to prepare a future response to specific questions. The Board Chair or designee will terminate the remarks of any individual that does not adhere to the established guidelines.

Board Bylaws: May 2020

We want to work with you to find reasonable solutions to questions or concerns.
The progressive actions steps for resolving concerns are as follows:
Open and respectful communication with the pertinent teacher/staff member to resolve the issue is the first step. Many times a concern is the result of misunderstanding and can be easily resolved through direct communication.
If the issue is unresolved through direct communication, a meeting together with the School Administration and the teacher/staff member can be arranged for collaborative problem solving.
If the issue is still unresolved, parents can bring concern to the School Board of Directors via written request for Board Action with the following:
Action requested (policy change, review of staff decision or action, etc.)
Reason or need for the request
Staff member and administrative position as well as current school policy (eg. Parent/Student Handbook)
Desired outcome and any time sensitivities
