This past week, our previous Board Chair, Marcy Ost, began a paid position as River Grove’s Business Manager. This change necessitated her stepping down from board service. During her tenure as Chair, our school received high commendation from our authorizer and an outstanding five-year charter renewal. Significant funding for learning programs was also secured on her watch. We are very grateful for Marcy’s leadership and many years of dedicated volunteer service.
We are now beginning our search for a replacement appointee to complete the remainder of her term ending June 30, 2025. We currently have three teachers serving on our board. As such, the open position must be filled by a non-staff resident of Minnesota or parent of a current River Grove student, per our bylaws.
If you wish to be considered for this position, please submit a statement that includes a brief bio, reason for your interest in board service and any particular skills that would benefit the school. Submissions and any further inquiries should be directed to our newly elected Board Chair, Jessica Hansen, at jhansen@marineareaschool.org by September 19th. Potential appointees will be considered during our September 26th board meeting.
